These things are based on the person's way of thinking that you are talking to and not gender related I believe. What one can do is to jsut base the interpretation on how you take the personality/behavior and sense of logic of the person.

As for me, I usually say "I dont know" when I am leaning towards no but I am leaving some room to think more about it

my parents just kept saying ask your mom she said what ever your dad says he then would say well see and i would say what the hell. this drove me crazy . some times people say stuff to not be committed at all.
