That stinks. Hopefully my local one won't close.

Chapter 11 says they are reorganizing their debt, which doesn't mean they are going away everywhere. Closing 500 stores could be a lot or hardly a dent. From their web site, "Payless has over 4,400 brick-and-mortar stores in more than 30 countries." It doesn't sound like they are going away any time soon. BTW, they have a franchise structure, which means they might not own all the stores closing or it might mean tey are looking to close only the stores they own and go completely with franchises.

Nooooowwww as for the stores closing? You know any company looks to close the least profitable stores first. Some of those stores probably overlap with another's customer base. For me it's like go 3 miles this direction or 3.5 in the other... Good luck girls; hope your fave choice survives.

And for the curious, here is their diversity policy, http://www.paylesscorporate.com/culture ... inclusion/.

Personally I can't remember the last time I was in PayLess Store however I know from reading here that a lot of the girls shop there. While the potentially closing of their stores doesn't directly affect me it saddens me for the loss of jobs but more so for the further demise of the brick and mortar retailer. Yes I shop online and have ordered pretty much everything except for groceries on line but there is something about being able to touch, try on, and actually see that not only does it fit but also looks good on me. Guess we all have to go shopping at our favorites stores to save them girls! LOL
