just a little poem

My wife recently reminded me how in my younger days I was a romantic poet. She kept all those sweet things I wrote her and told me I should try my hand at it again.
After thinking about it I decided to give it try. I'm posting it here and another place to see what people think.

Please be kind my ego is fragile.

A Days Lament

Get home from work
Feeling tired and weary
Hoping a hot shower
Makes me less dreary

Lather up all over
Much better I sigh
A shave will help
Kiss that stubble goodbye

Makeup just a dab
Should be just right
Makes me look better
Set for the night

Lay out some clothes
Lingerie silky and frilly
No more drab uniform
I won’t feel so silly

Put on the frock
Looking oh so sweet
Slipping on comfy shoes
The look is complete

Relaxing on the sofa
Checking all that mail
Thinking that now day’s
It’s slow like a snail

Suddenly comes a cloud
And I’m not outside
Now I’ve done it
No place to hide

I dare not look
Oh what a mess
JOHN she scolds me
You’re wearing MY dress.

(by the way John is just name not mine it just seemed to work)
