radio show

Post by DanteCarrie (FTM) »

Hi guys.

I'm currently freaking out very badly. I'm co chair of my university's LGBT society. well just become co chair. i was contacted by our Union's radio show who want to give us a show i thought this meant like an interview with us once so i thought great publicity but they are super professinal and serious about their jobs not like other students groups like ours where getting anyone to do anything is like getting blood from a stone and in fact they want to give us a regular show that we write and produce one hour long every fortnight!!!!!!!!!!!
and it has to contain lots of info on bars and clubs and offers and lgbt music scenes and lgbt friendly stuff around Liverpool and lots of international info as well as all about our socials..

Well I might kill myself but if any of you fancy me bringing up trans issues or specifically crossdresser issues that would be awesome. like events on in the UK every year, international trans issues or even crossdresser stuff and information etc if we did a show with this as a topic.
so doesn't start for a month so if interested and know about any of the stuff i mentioned please help me ?????

If the station has callers call in to ask questions, this can easily (usually) help eat up the time and even provide fodder for a follow up show.

Plus you can get guests (anonymous or not) into the studio for interviews and take questions from the public.

I reckon you want a good bit about crossdressers/transvestites for some shows, and separately cover transsexuals in other shows.

Then there's coverage of events and meetings in the area, and possibly even out to surrounding areas such as Manchester.

brilliant links. yes def mention sparkle. would only mention Liverpool and manc prides near the time they happen but more important to mention stuff less well known plus stuff happening soon. yes i agree perhaps seperate show topics.
no people aren't allowed to call in cas it could be a prank call and they could swear which isn't allowed and the radio guys could loose their license and its only a student run one so they'd get shafted but people are allowed to email and text in during the show. who knows if they would though I'll have to wait and see if thats done much.

thanks for the links matey. does anyone else have specific issues you think would be good or other events worth mentioning.?

You might consider some of the support groups for children who are trans or gay or are children of trans or gay folks. I forget which ones are over the pond. I'm going to slough that research off on anyone else.
