Pink Floyd... What do you think?

I personally think Pink Floyd has produced the most amazing collection of music ever (i.e. - the best band ever)...... :-({|=

Their best album was The Final Cut :P , close second was Ummagumma  and by far the best concept was Dark Side.....

The songs in Final Cut were better for me than Dark Side and the sounds of Ummagumma where superior to Dark Side, but Dark Side is the total package...

Your thoughts????

Pink Floyd of course, is right up there with The Beatles. I'd have to flip a coin to pick a favorite.

Here's my order

1) Dark Side
2) Wish You Were Here
3) The Wall/Meddle (Tie)
4) Momentary Laspe of Reason (I know, Waters was gone)

The Final Cut just did not cut it with me. :(

You know, I thought about the Pink Floyd thing for a whole day now and decided to re-arrange my order:

1) Dark Side
2) Meddle
3) Wish You Were Here
4) The Wall
5) Momentary Lapse
6) Ummagumma

Meddle moves up because even though there's "only 2 good songs on it" (Echos and One of these Days -- about 70% total time of the album), its that good.

1. Dark Side Of The Moon
2. The Wall
3. Wish You Were Here
4. Atom Heart Mother
5. Momentary Lapse Of Reason
6. Ummagumma
7. Final Cut
8. Delicate Sound Of Thunder
9. Meddle

Just my choices. Personally Pink Floyd just aren't the same without Roger Waters, as much as I do enjoy Dave Gilmours writings and guitar work.

Pink Floyd is an awesome band, but The Beatles are unbeatable

The Beattles are before me ever so slightly. My parents at one time lived around the corner from where John Lennon was killed.

Hi all,

Pink Floyd, eh? I'd have to say Dark Side of the Moon and Meddle. I was about twelve or thirteen years old when the Dark Side came out. At the time, I was also listening to Yes, Bowie, Genesis, Jethro Tull, Queen, Supertramp, Rush, the Stones, the Beatles, and Lawrence Welk.

Our gang defined itself by the tales the Dark Side told. I was partial to Alice Cooper's Welcome To My Nightmare, myself ("...nurse Rosetta wearing silk suspenders on her thighs...").

Pink Floyd rules. Their sound remains unmatched.

Love,
CJ

Thank you CJ...

That was one of the most sincentic statements on Pink Floyd I have seen in a while
Pink Floyd rules. Their sound remains unmatched.
How true....
