other websites you frequent

General talk about CD/TGing and gender topics that aren't necessarily fun things we do while en femme, or for gender-driven discussions.

other websites you frequent

What other websites have you found, similar to this one, where you can share your experiences and knowledge with other like minded people?
While I find this site to be a great source of information and support I wonder if there are others that might offer additional, helpful, advice.

There is Crossdressers Heaven, this is Haven...But I prefer a site where I can as an individual express myself, or openly talk about fashion, coping, etc...or simply talk and others are free to ignore or to jump in and respond. In the late 90's there was a site similar to this one that was wonderful so long ago I cannot recall the name but you could just post and others would chime in or ignore. I was upset when that site closed but then I found Crossdressers discussion forum...now the Haven...been here for a while. There are other sites but this one meets my needs as someone confronting competing genders inside my head.

Heaven has topical articles a cadre of chosen writers produce and comments can be made. But it seemed more restrictive and not as free form as this one so this has always been my favorite. Oh...my observation or perception here is that many of us are seasoned veterans...I mean 40's and older with a few who are younger...I may be wrong but seems to be the case.

I'm only on this one, Keay, as it has more participation and friendly toward female partners. My husband is on a local and much smaller site, most all the active members there are within a few hours drive or less.

The internet is a great source of information, and of misinformation. When I first tried to search what my husband's dressing desires was all about, I found lots of porn and hook up sites.

The Administrators and Moderators of each forum draws the members they like to associate with. Most people like to communicate with those they can find common interests. I'm one that doesn't have the spare time to visit several forums, one is enough.

Roses in the UK had to shut down and it is now Rose's Repartee, not quite the same as it once was.

Crossdressers (dot) com is fairly active.

Helen Boyd's sites at: http://www.myhusbandbetty.com/community/index.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

A mixed group of those who've transitioned and everything before and after that. The most well-written and intellectual site I've found. Also the least amount of Pink Fog.

Just this one! I usually have a pretty busy schedule, just wouldn't have the time to frequent any other sites, LOL! Wouldn't want to even if I did....

I used to be on a similar site years ago - but this one is so much better!

I've never heard of Helen Boyd's site... I'll have to check it out.

Years back I was on Crossdressers.com but did not find that it was a very friendly place for an active participant. At least from my experience.

I like the Haven now.

That's the same one I was on, and while there's more to the story of why I'm not there anymore, I agree with Alisa that it wasn't very friendly.

This forum is far better in so many ways!

For the most part here. I used to go to crossdressers.com occasionally but haven't been there in months.

I recently discovered a site aimed more at the politics of Trans life. It is youth oriented and , I think, very good. It is Trans Express (crossdreamers.tumblr.com.) It is more of a news site than a posting board, but you can comment.

This one and this one only. I was a member of another forum for a while until I made the mistake of thanking the ladies there. I was royally slapped down in PM and forum saying there are more than "ladies" here please respect that. If I make a mistake I will (and did) apologise but the tone was way over the top.

This is the friendliest CD/TS forum I've ever found so why go elsewhere? :) :)

(I might check out a few sites mentioned though)

This is the only site where I am currently a member, although I've belonged to a few others in the past. I still visit those other sites, but only as a guest, simply to keep current on how my "friends" are doing. I've made many online friends on a few different sites over the years. (the really good friends I keep in touch with via regular email) I've left those other sites primarily because of draconian methods that moderators or administrators have used for dealing with members that they had disagreements with. My philosophy for dealing with disagreement is simply this: "Let's agree to disagree without being disagreeable". I have deliberately failed to mention the names of sites that I have left because of another cornerstone philosophy of mine which is simply this: "If you can't say something nice to (or about) someone else then don't say anything at all". I am a person who champions diversity, as well as respect for those that we disagree with, and so far at least that type of respect seems to be working reasonably well here.

thanks for reading,
Deb
