Be-All Chicago (May 31 - June 5)

Post by SaraSnow »

A local support group here in Chicago named Chi Chapter (formerly Tri-Ess) is sponsoring a week long conference for everyone in the TG spectrum. I haven't been to a conference yet and still up in the air for this year but I heard it's a lot of fun.

I live real close to the hotel. If any of you are going drop me a note and say hi. It would be great to meet some of the great girls on this board.

A friend and I went to Be-all in 2009. It was interesting. I went primarily, as did my friend, for consultations with FFS doctors, and then attended a few other things and dinners. It was OK, and there were many people there from as far away as Florida and Colorado that I know of. The hospitality suite was a neat place to get acquainted, and the second floor had vendors of clothing and makeup plus people to apply it. Even Jamie Austin, make up artist extradorinary (ask he will tell you :), was there, and Rory of Chicago from Transformations with clothes, makeup, etc.

The evening outings were fun as well. Tommy Guns was pretty fun, and the food was quite passable. The rubber chicken dinners at the luncheons were not quite as good, but the presenters at each luncheon were worth the cost, I think.

No, I will not be attending this year. I had thought I might if a different friend with a need to feel part of a larger group wanted to go, but her finances prevented her from being able to. And we really couldn't share a room anymore and have her wife be comfortable with the trip.
