Keystone Conference March 26th-30th

Keystone Conference First

For those of you that enjoy a good laugh, here’s a unique chance to be part of Keystone history. For the first time, the Keystone Conference will feature a live comedy act staring Ian Harvie, America’s premier Transgendered stand-up comedian. http://ianharvie.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; . Ian’s comedy encompasses his personal journey of being born a girl and becoming a ‘self-made man.’ His humor spans all boundaries, from gender to politics, cutting directly to the core of the human condition, in all its infinite strangeness.

Touted as “the most unique stand-up comic in the country” by Frontiers magazine, Ian has been part of Margaret Cho’s smash show “The Sensuous Woman” and tours with him nationally and internationally constantly. He also landed a spot on One Night Stand Up and OutLaugh Comedy Festival on the LOGO Network, Comics Unleashed on ABC and The Trisha Show on CW.

He could be your brother, your best friend’s boyfriend or a merely a clean-cut preppy trying his hand at stand-up, but he’s not. “I was born female; there is no question that I understand this. I believe that ‘female’ is a biological sex and legal term; while my gender is something else entirely, that is something I get to create myself and modify as I see fit. I do not consider myself or identify as ‘male’, however I do identify as a ‘man’ of sorts, these two words are not necessarily connected for me. I don’t feel like I was robbed of the correct biological sex; I believe I was born in the right body, and that I just may want to change it a little bit.”

Christopher Lauth, Diveristy Coordinator RISD (Rhode Island School of Design) says “Ian was not just hilariously brilliant in his performance, but incredibly insightful into his experiences as an openly transgender comedian.”

Catch Ian’s show at the Keystone Conference, http://www.keystone-conference.org/ Thursday night March 27th at 6:30 pm. Tickets are $35 and include dinner. All proceeds go to support the Trans Youth.

Hope to see you there.
