Hi everyone,
I've asked before and I am anxiously posting again. I have been looking for support groups in my area(Eastern NC). It seems they are very scarce. And other cross dressers, if there are any(I'm sure they are) are very difficult to find.
I just missed a Tri-ess event in Atlanta, which if was a little more on the ball may have went to. My wife is a lot more understanding now and I sure she would have no objections to me going.
I you should know of any groups in this vicinity, I'd appreciate you input.
I have good and so so about Tri-ess. Your opinions there would be appreciated also.
Perhaps I'm better off just going out solo, I am getting quite a bit braver.

Re: Support groups
Hanna, the best place to start is obviously the internet, google it and see what comes up. Also local LGBT groups can generally steer you in the right direction. I Googled LGBT organizations in North Carolina and this seems to be the big one.

Try contacting them and see what resources are near you and go from there. You can also try the alternative lifestyle publications and see what they show. If nothing else take the first step and try putting one together. Good luck

Remember Ginger Rogers did everything Fred Astaire did only she did it backwards and in high heels!

Re: Looking for Support Groups - Eastern NC Area
Dianna,
Thank you so much for the reply. I have tried the Raleigh LGBT. They have coffees, movies etc. Nothing much in CD groups.
I just talked to a girl from Tir-ess the PM. She lives in Raleigh area, but attends a monthly weekend in Atlanta. She/he was a big help in a way. I am welcome anytime to go to Atlanta and see if I like it. (550 miles).
And she also said there is not really a whole lot happening in NC. It kinda confirmed what I have been finding. And now even one therapist whom I have seen and attended several of her group meetings, seems to have closed her doors with no explanations.
So anyway, I do not give up easily. I'll keep looking, and dressing and enjoying life
and CDHaven.
