Re: Access to Various User Groups

Post by KimberlyS »

Hi, all -

This announcement is primarily directed to the newer member, but will also serve as a general reminder for all our members. Please note this is a verbatim duplicate announcement to that in the Ask Us . . . aka FAQs section.

As you may have noticed, we have several areas of the Forum that are marked "Private Section", and in order for you, the member, to access them you must request access via your User Control Panel (UCP) -> Options -> Usergroups and the request will be sent to the Site Administrator, SilverLady(SO). Any and all requests made in the open forum or via PM to SilverLady(SO) will be ignored. [-(

Due to the nature of these areas I would like to see some substantive posting from members before granting access. At this time I will not be requiring either a minimum number of membership days or posts to qualify for access to either of the first two groups listed below, but I do want to see active participation from the member before access to any of these areas will be considered. The requirements for access to Hot Topics stands firm and will not be reduced or waived. [-(

That being said, members must request access via their UCP and when I am comfortable that everything is on the 'straight and narrow' (no pun intended) access will be granted. In the case of GG/SOs who have not made any (or very few) posts in the open forum it is to their benefit they also send a PM to Kimberlys and LigeiaSO giving a brief introduction and back story before access to the GG/SO section is granted.

1. A Place For Wives, SOs and GGs - which includes the Finding Out/Coping for SO's and Genetic Girl Talk forums. This section is totally off-limits to all genetic males (CDs, TGs and MSOs), FTMs (CD or TG), and intersexed members so that the GG/SOs may post in private!

2. The Journey Beyond - which includes the Who Am I... and Do You Understand... forums. As the name implies, this section is for the member who is "more than" a crossdresser and their partner (SO, GG, or MSO).

3. Hot Topics - This forum, while totally hidden to most members and especially the general public, is a sub-section of the Up For Debate area along with the Transgender Issues forum; some older members may remember this section under its former name of "Land of Mordor", or "Mordor" for short. Hot Topics is a place for all who like discussions on politics, religion, current affairs and even gripes about life; in other words, topics which are likely to cause a debate. Just a warning, it can get a little heated in here!!! Despite this area having restricted access, the Forum rules still apply and they will be upheld. All members must be posting members for at least 30 days, have a minimum of 50 substantive posts, and be in good standing before they are eligible to request access to Hot Topics.

All requests for access to any of these user groups - and especially the Hot Topics section - made in the open Forum (ie, as part of a response to a particular topic or in the form of a query in the Ask Us section) will not be honored. [-(

The member must request access via their UCP which will send the request to the Site Admin. Please do not contact either the sub-forum's Moderator(s) or the Site Admin via PM with your request. [-(

In general, any member who meets the criteria for membership to any of these user groups, and seriously desires access to that restricted area, then they should have no problem taking a few extra minutes to properly request access via their User Control Panel (UCP).

Once a member has been admitted to a particular user group they will receive an automatic email from the Forum confirming their admittance. Despite the popular rumor, these areas are not password-restricted, but a change in the member's account settings is required, and this can only be done by the Site Administrator. Once a member has been admitted to a particular user group they need do nothing more than log in to the Forum in order to access that area.

The final decision of whether a member may have access to, is delayed access to, be denied access to, or is removed from any of these user groups rests solely with the Site Administrator and there is always a valid reason for that decision . . . and denial or removal of access is not open for debate or negotiation. [-(

Thank you, and have a wonderful day!
