THE OFFICIAL: CD-TG Friendly Travel Sites

Post by SilverLady(SO) »

Hi, All -

Due to the recent posts from members looking for CD-friendly places to visit, I wanted to start an official travel topic.

Please share your web sites to locate CD-TG friendly places . . . hotels, restaurants, clubs, events, and the like, that you have either actually visited or have heard of that are friendly to CD-TG's. I know there are sites out there that cater to this topic, and they can be listed as well. Please preface your additions with the general location - - city and state (and country, if not in the USA, that is) - - to help narrow the member's search.

This topic is not meant for you to share your experiences, just locations and/or web sites that you have found to be CD-TG travel friendly.

If this listing grows like I anticipate, my plans are to treat this topic like we do the Birthdays and Anniversaries. Meaning, that this Sticky will become a place for members to post new additions, which I will then transfer into a related Announcement topic, with all listings in alphabetical order by location.

I have started this with just a few sites to provide an example of what we are seeking.

The Twin Cities: Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN - GLBT-Friendly Bars & Clubs

I have no idea what the meaning of "purple roof" is, but they do have some good info. Beyond all that, a phone call to a destination sometimes can be re-assuring.

I think most of the Midwest girls would know about Saugatuck, MI. It is a very gay friendly community on the shore of Lake Michigan. It is a lovely quaint town, lots of cute shops and just a pleasure to be in. I have been there many times and never once felt anything but a warm welcome.

Here is a link to their website if it works: http://saugatuck.com/index.asp

Ok, here are some 'establishments' from the UK. Please bear in mind, I haven't been to any of them yet:

This looks distinctly cheesy, but hey, that's Blackpool for you!

I hope this short list will prompt you UK girls to reply with many more tranny friendly hotels.

We need some sites for the girls in the Southeast, and are shy about going to strange places.

I don't frequent specifically GLBT places particularily, but I could give you a list of places where I customarily go that I now have the people "trained".
I usually make note of places where people seem unusually congenial, and then return when possible. But also, I've never been anywhere that people were hostile or unfriendly, mostly they just seem uncomfortable at worst.
These are just "regular" restraunts, hotels, shops, etc. but they are my favorites:
Country Inn & Suites, Wyomissing, PA
Hooters, Wyomissing, PA
Sandersons, Port Arthur, TX
She's All That, Crandon, WI
Edgewater Inn, Crandon, WI

It's not likely any of you gals will pass through these places, they are a bit out of the way, but just in case....

Around Denver CO,
Shopping
Flat Irons Mall. (Numerous stores there)
Maurice's in Thornton (Caters more to the younger crowd, but still very helpful)
Hana's Designs (in Littleton) for wig care. She's the best, hands down. http://www.hanadesigns.com
Phyllis's Fantasy House - Makeovers, etc. http://www.phyllisfantasies.com/

Dining
Chili's (numerous locations, I've never had a bad experience)
Mercury Cafe - Eclectic menu http://www.mercurycafe.com
Club 404 - Home cooking and pleasant atmosphere. 404 Broadway
Hamburger Mary's - TS/TG friendly http://www.hamburgermarys.com

Clubs / Bars
Track's Nightclub http://www.tracksdenver.com
Milk Bar - Something for nearly everyone. 1037 Broadway

I've personally been to these places and can recommend more.

Positively Provincetown, MA!!! I visited there for a CD/TV/TS weekend one time. We stayed at the 'Crown & Anchor Inn' and had dinner in a couple of nearby places. Even the police were trans friendly!

Here are some T-friendly places. I have visited each of them as Sally so they get my personal recommendation:

Downtown Pittsburgh, PA including the theater district and all of the restaurants. I have attended numerous plays and musicals en femme here and each experieince was wonderful. If you like to shop, the downtown Macy's is awesome.

The Raven Restaurant and night club in New Hope, PA.

Downtown Harrisburg, PA including the restaurants: Stocks on 2nd, Cafe Fresco. If you are looking for places to stay in Harrisburg the Harrisburg Sheraton on 4650 Lindle Road and the downtown Hilton on 2nd St are very T-friendly.

Hugs,

Sally
