Speaking from the vantage point of 79-going-on-80, it hasn't lapsed for me yet, and I doubt it ever will. It has plateaued to some extent—I'm less likely to pick up new outfits, but then I've a couple of closetsful and really, where does a girl stop? 
Whatever others may feel, for me girlhood and dressing seems like a lifetime condition.
