hey all,
Can anybody tell how i can figure out what size clothes/shoes to get for my SO. I'm planing on buying him a new outfit, but don't know what size, my SO is't sure himself on what shoe size either because he's not comfortable about going out to the store. Any advice on this?
how to get the right size

I think usually to go from a men's size to a women's size, you generally have to go up 2 sizes. For example, if he's a size 9M, he's wear a size 11 W.
As for the clothes, sizing can be so tricky! He will probably have to try a few things on, unless you buy something that comes in SML sizing instead of 2,4,etc.
A few tips:
- SO and I go shoe shopping together on weeknights after 7, when the stores aren't really busy. He's not out to anyone but me, so we kind of have to be sneaky. We even have a plan--if we're "busted" looking at the size 10 shoes, we'll just pretend that we got lost looking for the 6 1/2's.
- Some stores (like the Gap or Old Navy) stock men's and women's pants that look almost identical. He can usually try on women's clothes there and not be hassled.
- If you do buy him an outfit, make sure you get a receipt!

Hi, Melody!
Are you planning on surprising your CD with this new outfit? Then I would follow Gardenia's suggestions.
If your CD is going shopping with you, then a good place to try clothes - with little or no hassle - is your local Goodwill store.
There was a question in the Dear GG section asking what do salespeople think about CD's in their dressing rooms, and here's the link:

Obviously, some stores have more problems than others, but I think for the most part you shouldn't have too much trouble.
Please let us know how you do!!
