Can we have two brides?

A 'round table' for CDs, TGs and GG/SOs to talk with each other. We're all in this together, so let's make the most of it.

Another alternative would be a unitarian service if there is a meeting house or church in your area. UU ministers have been performing weddings without judgement for many years and will even include your partner's Femme name if you two so desire. Most Unitarian Universalist Societys are welcoming. The two of you may dress as you please for your special day. It might be worth checking out if it's closer than Vegas! 8)

here in australia it would be no problem as couples have the option of a civil celebrant. not sure about the legality of it tho in this country. having just been to a traditional wedding which was wonderful. the thought occured to me....at the reception, it is traditional for a favoured guest to drag the garter
[a sexy silky band around the upper thigh of the bride} off her leg with thier teeth......how would that work for two people dressed as females....the mind boggles!!! all the best anyway

I think it's awesome that you feel this way. I am about to be married ( I call my So my wife in case any of you have noticed that in other posts, it is just not legal yet). How wonderful it would be to be asked by my SO to do what you are suggesting, thats a dream!

Hey, Gardenia!

Are you and the fiance still planning on having a 'ceremony' in Vegas with 2 brides? Virginia and I will be going to Vegas and have our own commitment ceremony - hopefully both of us in bridal gowns! - and we'd love to coordinate our plans with you, and make it a double ceremony???

Several of our members have mentioned that they would love to come to Vegas and be witnesses for these ceremonies. We can't think of a more wonderful way to meet our online friends!!

Hi, Lisa -

We have not set any dates yet. We would love to have the ceremony at the same time as Gardenia and her fiance, if at all possible, as she is the one who first came up with the idea - and we would not want to step on the brides' toes!!

Virginia and I thought that would be a terrific way to have a quasi-wedding (actually, a Commitment Ceremony) of our own with two brides, and celebrate with Gardenia at the same time. Even still, if are not able to coordinate our plans with Gardenia, we will proceed on our own.

When a date is set and plans are in motion, we will let everyone here know. As far as we are concerned, anyone from the forum who would like to come to Vegas and 'witness' our Commitment Ceremony - and meet others from the forum - are more than welcome, and the more the merrier, in our opinion!

Missy and I will be in Vegas celebrating our wedding anniversary at the end of February and she's so excited about being out and about en femme! I'm excited for her.

There is no better place on earth to get married as you suggest than in Vegas! What a fabulous gift for your hubby. It will be so wonderful. Two goddesses!! Congratulations and have fun.

Hey all,

As cool as it would be to go to Vegas, the fiance(e) and I can't swing it. We're using all of our vacation for the wedding and honeymoon. :-(

Still, it's not out for next year! Maybe on our first anniversary or something...

He really wants to try on wedding dresses, though, and I'm so tempted to drive out to a David's Bridal in the middle of nowhere (so there's no chance of being outed) to take him dress shopping. I feel somewhat guilty obsessing over veils and bridal shoes when he has to miss out on the fun.

I would LOVE to do this though, and it would be awesome if there were other couples with us! Sign us up for 2008!

Sounds like an excursion could be put together with some of y'all.

See http://www.vabridalguide.com/virginia_bridal_shops.php

Make a few calls and see if y'all can work something out. No harm in trying on now.

I'm late (as usual) to this thread, but what a wonderful thing! I have seen videos of some double gown weddings (renewals of vows mostly), through my group... Sigh. I wish I could attend....two wonderful people. So, yes...two brides would work, but how do you handle the 500+ bridesmaids you invited
Best of luck and envy
