I thought I would out in my whole lot of TV watching as to what I have seen in comercials.

DiGiorno Pizza has a new spot with a very obvious male in CD (but I think they are portraying as a drag) that he has something to hide from his counter-part that he does not seem to see. The joke is or at least I think it is that pizza is not a take out but oven cooked. The line at the end is "I new there was something you where hiding from me." I am not sure about this one. Then an older spot I saw about a woman who puts on some X-Ray glasses and in looking at differnet people in a restaurant. The first person she comes to is a man yelling in a cell phone the joke here is that he is wearing a Bra and Panties she says "He has some issues"

I do not know what they say about advertising but for some reason I know see. Or look for more ads with CDing in them.

Rikki,

How did you come to this conclusion?

(BTW,I am not asking because I'm critisizing, just curious. I LIKE your post. )

Lefty asks...
How did you come to this conclusion?
The concept is, alas, not original, though I do not know to whom to ascribe it. I encountered it in something that I read or heard (maybe in college?)

But I thought it would be interesting to apply it to crossdressers, and I appreciate the positive comments. Thank you one and all!

CJ - thank you for naming the sitcom - yes I think he was playing gay a bit earlier than the main phase Rikki mentions.

Rikki - I love reading your posts and you sum up what I didn't have the statistics to do, way cool thank you!

You're welcome, Anne. :)

I don't know Britcoms all that well, but this one and Fawlty Towers are my faves. My first contact with UK television (aside from kiddie puppet shows like The Thunderbirds) was comedy skit shows like Monthy Python's Flying Circus (the dead parrot kills me still!) and The Goodies. I'm still a big fan of the Benny Hill Show... although certainly not for Mr. Hill's crossdressing talents!

Love,
CJ

I don't really have anything to add to this thread, but I just have to say that I absolutely adore Monty Python! Brian's Life is still one of my favourite movies. :)

There is a funny scene in the new series. Elton John appears in one episode and says to Patsy (Joanna Lumley) "Didn't I know you when you were a man?"!

Black Adder - all the periods but the middle ages was especially good. We saw the movie "Black Adder Back & Forth" in the Millenium Dome during a trip to London in 2000, way cool.

I think the character Baldrick, maybe others crossdressed in an episode or two also but to get out of a jam rather than as a habit. It's been awhile since I saw the series - wish I had the DVD set.
