My names Alexis and I've only recently started to cross dress. I'm 18 years old and finding it very hard to get started and way too afraid to go out yet. Hopefully one day I'll be able to find a safe place to go or get the courage to go out.

I excepted what I was in 2006, I'm 66 now.

Had I found this forum at 18, well, the last fifty years would have been quite different for me.

I envy you the world before you. At 18 I was already a few years past a long series of electroshock treatments for my "deviance." (See Clockwork Orange for an idea of what conditioning is about.) You won't have to experience any of that, and if you live in one of the larger urban areas, your peers may even find your CD exciting. Not that you have to come out to them or anyone else, now or later. You'll find your own interests and find your 'fit', and I hope you'll deal with all of it as an adventure rather than a crisis.
