Hey there people. Thought is introduce myself. I live in England though I'm not English. I'm in my 30s and am firmly in the closet although my girlfriend is very encouraging and I'm looking forward to the day when I get out of this closet - one Halloween doesn't count right?

Hi NiamH, Welcome to the Forum, I like you am in the closet and am finding it a very dark place and can't wait to find a way out. I wish I had the support you have, lucky girl.

Hi Niam and welcome. Many here are in the closet. Some are comfortable there and will stay there forever. Some come out on Halloween or when they feel up to it. Others of us come out of the closet some, kind of a one foot in and one foot out thing. I would say most here are in the closet at least partly.
We all do what is comfortable and what works for us and our families.

I basically dress for costume events and Halloween.

Hi Niam,
to the Haven. The closet is very familiar to most of us, one remark I received after saying I was deep in the closet was "If you go any deeper you will end up in Narnia). That decided me to make the effort and I have been out a few times. Each time it does get that bit easier and more enjoyable. Make the most of all the experience here and especially your understanding girlfriend.
