I think that is a combination of a guess and the number of TS folks that have signed up with the national health service and requested a status change. From what I have been told, the population of TS in Britain has been consistently underestimated for years due to people like the Dr.s Green downplaying the numbers while pushing Blanchard and Zucker's theories of homosexual transsexualism. The Dr.s Green (hubby and wife) are apparently seen as the experts in England (You recall what an expert is --- a drip under pressure

).

I agree, I suspect its out by an order of magnitude. another forum I am on ( http://rosesforum.tv/) has a high proportion of TS people on it and it has over 6000 members, I rather doubt every TS in the UK is a member of Rose's as well.

What i find particularly dissapointing about the article is the bad behaviour and outright discrimination the TG person mentioned in the link to the article encountered at work.
