The scotland road
I am only 18 years of age, my drive is my strength
I have braced myself for this journey I undertake
The road can be kind and the road can be lethal
I will not falter as I strive to survive
My goal is many miles away, my instinct knows the way
I am drawn like a moth to a flame, I cannot turn back
Through the dark I silently make my way
To my teenage destiny where the heart is alive
The night has long since drawn in, the world is asleep
The cold has begun to bite and my legs are tired
With grim determination, through bitter driving snow
I know I'll survive, that is my choice
This land has become the blackest night
There is no reprieve for this solitary traveller
Would that a passer-by stop to speed me along
But I am alone as the snow drifts high
I climb a hill, I see a glow ahead
I pound my feet onward and up, I will not be beaten
Driving forever onwards, till my heart would burst
I follow the light, to the brow with hope beating fast
As I reach the summit, a beautiful sight
A blaze of light only a few miles ahead
A snake of orange sparks lead the way
And I'm one town closer to my destiny
