Mourning The Death Of Trust

Mourning The Death Of Trust
By Lorna Taylor

Trust no more,
A thing of the past.
Murdered by deception,
And lies.

Trust no more,
I can.
Too many empty promises,
Too many false hopes,
Too many broken dreams.

Family, friends and leaders
Have each taken a cutting stab.
Killing poor trust slowly,
Watching her suffer,
Watching her bleed,
Watching her die
A slow lingering death.

Trust snuffed out
by
CORRUPTION.
Live it. Love it. OWN IT.

I loved it and sadly did not get a chance to read it until the middle of the night. It has the sharp ring of truth.

Hi all,

Lorna,

I liked your poem; it's raw; it's painful. Are you sure trust is dead? Could it be that it's merely ailing? suffering from its wounds? that it can one day heal?

I send hugs and much love your way, Lorna. (--)

Love,
CJ

Dear, Dear Lorna,

Maybe there are so few replies because your words cut to the quick. I think every human being that reads your words, feels your pain - and ours.

After reading your poem I felt sad. Sad for you, sad for me, then my survival instincts kicked in. I began to recall those times when people trusted me with great results for all, and when I trusted others. Sure not all trust was well placed. On the other hand, sometimes the feelings of deception were multifaceted. Such as when the deception was born from honorable intent.

The list of things that I know for sure gets shorter with each passing year but this I know for sure (or at least I think so). Often when you have an thought associated words like always, no more or never, there's a real possibility another side exist worth investigating. I hope you'll investigate, as difficult as it may be to do that.

Don't let the world get you down, lift the world up. If not you then who?

With Much Caring...MiMi

There's power in your poem, I like it lots. It gives a sense that all is not lost, that emotion can overcome diversity, it makes me want to write once more. Iv'e read some of your posts and it I know your'e going through a rough time. When you can produce this sort of intensity, your'e a survivor.
Good for you... better than wilting in a corner in the shade.
Now, can I follow my own advice...?

Lorna,

sigh no more ladies
sigh no more
men were decievers ever
one foot on sea
one foot on shore
in one thing constant NEVER!
but sigh not so
and let them go
and be ye bligh and bonnie
and change all your cries of woe
into hey NONNY NONNY!

I wish so much that you could be an actress in Shakesperian theater. It's so clear to me since I first read your posts back in the spring that you REALLY FEEL emotions to their full power. Can be a tough row to hoe I know---but really I think it is your gift. I've told you before that I think you have an artist's soul---have you ever considered adding theater to your performing skills?----you seem wonderfully sensative to all the things that make great actors GREAT. Really.
AND you have a creative sense of humor. ---------do you think you are a romantic?---( a modern goth-romantic?) hope you are well right now and NOT falling asleep on any trains----- 8) Tea-cake

Hi Lorna,
I felt exactly like that last October and for many more months. My best
and only friend, here in the flesh, stabbed me in the back. The results of what he did will have rippling repercussions for the rest of my life.

What did happen is realize he was not my friend ever and was only using
me to get what he wanted. The good that has happened are I have
cultivated new friends and not tied my well being and trust to one person.
People on their own have found this person has lost the shine and trust he
once had because of his behavior toward these people. Now that he got
what he wanted his true self is showing through to everyone.

I value you in my life and what you have given me of yourself. Your
poem awakens terrible memories in me and I am sure others. By
the standard of a work causing others an emotional response or to
consider, the poem is a huge success. Just remember it is a narrow
view of life. We all love you and wish better things to happen for you.
I think if you consider you know most all of us care for you very dearly.

Take Care and Hugs from me to you,
Kersten
