Does anyone write?

I was wondering this because I write poetry and I am published. I have another publisher asking me for my material. :)

That's really deep CJ.

I wrote this one last year.

My Love

Love is a feast that ravages my soul.
Because of your touch, I lose all control.
The fragrance of love is turns my thoughts numb.
The flowing of feelings has only begun.

The taste of your nectar is truly unique.
It’s not the physical that I seek.
I want to tell you and be direct
All I have for you is love and respect.

My heart is still, when you’re not there.
But I need you to know how much that I care
When we’re apart it’s you that I need.
I will tell you my dear, I love you indeed.

This one is being published in the new year by two publishers. One in the USA and the other in the UK, for world wide publishing.

The Way You Wear Your Face

Behind that veil of lace,
You hide that pretty face.
I’ve seen you time again,
But never in this place.

When you walk in to the room,
You make them stop and stare.
Today I will be your groom.
I know it can’t be too soon.

And as you walk with grace,
I stand in front and wait.
Your smile lights up this place.
I love the way you wear your face.

Thanks CJ. I have some darker poems and I'm writing a series of adventure poems. So far I have 6 in that series.

I have close to 60 poems written altogether.

Sharon SO and Leftyrainbow SO, I would like to read your poems too.

I write and girl do I write. I'm nearing the completion on a BOOK I have been working on and off for a while. I am about a hundred or so pages from finishing the first draft. some 700+ hand writen pages. I have another book I had started and put on the side to finish this one. And a short story that is nearing completion once I have said first story completed. All stories are hand written, I go through a lot of pens.

I do write though it is mostly for my own pleasure and sanity. I will sometimes get an idea for a story and if I do not at least start it I will have a harder time sleeping then I currently do. I have never been published though I would love to be.

This is a snippet of something I wrote back when I was 17. It was about the inevitability of change.

This is the River D'Or, my friend,
This is the River D'Or.
If this were the Styx then I could say
So much more.
But this is the time that it must be said,
Chased by the flow like children who fled
Down dark alleys while still in bed.

Thank you , Rikki ! :)

Was your poem set to music?

(I'm asking because you said you were seventeen when you wrote it and I went through a period where I turned all my poems into songs when I was younger and I was wondering if you did also because that poem that you wrote could easily be put to music)

Thank you, Alexandra and C.J.

C.J. your work is quite good.

I've noticed in this thread that you are all romantic women at heart.

I have a bit of a difficult time when trying to write this kind of poetry.

It comes out feeling contrived and forced to me even though it might sound O.K. to others .

Maybe if I become brave enough I'll try posting one of them to get your ladies opinions.

Thanks again for the lovely words,

Lefty
