Fashion changes poem

Many, many years ago
Things so different although
Fashion and trends all looked the same
Some so wild some so tame
Bustles, wigs, lace and such
Wigs and tights for men that judge
Short pants and boots and the like
Men looked silly, what a sight
Then it went to suits, neck ties
Hats and suspenders, stylize
Bustles, fans skirts to the ankle
Changed to flappers fringe and sables
Jewels them all, over years in history
Types of clothes made us it seems
From high fashion to casual dress
Comfort clothes, or to impress
Then came accepted one day in time
Women wore clothes of men, meantime
Fashion trends expanded much
To pants and t-shirts and boots and such
All was accepted for women you see
But dare not dress in skirts men be
And why the double standards I ask
What a shame, men can’t unmask
They love the touch of pretty and soft
Why on just women, why are they scoffed?
Thoughts to ponder weigh and wonder
I think it is society’s blunder
Equal rights applied to few
Double standards for women too
Will this change? I think not
Tis a shame, it's just my thought
Gender issues, wrong or right
Who makes these rules what gives the right
For some to say men can’t wear dresses
When women dress in men’s britches
