Passing the Blame

We all like jokes, humor and other funny stuff, so let's lighten things up a bit with a few laughs (or groans, as the case may be)!!

Passing the Blame

Post by SilverLady(SO) »

We Americans just love to pass the blame. We come up with the best reasons to blame others for our own problems. Here's a small list:

1. If a woman burns her thighs on the hot coffee she's holding in her lap while driving, she blames the restaurant.

2. If your teenage son kills himself or the next door neighbors, you blame the rock'n'roll music or musician he liked.

3. If you smoke three packs of cigarettes a day for 40 years and die of lung cancer, your family blames the tobacco company.

4. If your daughter gets pregnant by the football captain, you blame the school for poor sex education.

So if I die while parked in front of this computer while sending you this, I want you to blame Bill Gates, ok?

Those are great! rotf

Here's more:

- If someone gets shot in the movie theater, they blame the movie.

- If a kid gets hurt emulating a stunt he saw on a TV show, they blame the TV show.
Live it. Love it. OWN IT.

Its the same as everyone demands their rights but not one admits to their responsibilities.

Where is that Star Gate when I need it

Laycee -

I was a paralegal for trial attorneys - for both plaintiff and defense attorneys - although I'm now enjoying 'really early retirement'.

That being said, although we did all forms of personal injury - from auto accidents, slip/falls, products liability, vaccine litigation, and medical malpractice, to name a few - none of the lawfirms I worked with would ever handle the types of cases I mentioned above.

Believe it or not, most plaintiff attorneys have more pride in themselves than to take those types of cases! Not all attorneys are 'sharks' - but I've met some of those sharks, too!

I feel I must apologize to SilverLady and anyone else who might take offense to my last post. I never intended for it to cause any type of controversy nor did I want to offend anyone. However, after rereading what I had posted, I see that although maybe it didn't, there is a possiblility that it could. There are indeed more good lawyers out there and I based my opinion on the select few I see in TV commercials. If my last post offended you in any way, please accept my sincere apology.

Well Laycee, this is Laugh Stop. My opinion is that anything in this section is intended to be humorous. No one should take offense at what is posted here.
That being said...

Q: What do you call 1000 lawyers at the bottom of the ocean?

A: A good start! !!tongue!!

Love to all my lawyer friends out there. <<^o^>>

Laycee - No offense was taken by me, so there is no need to apologize for anything you said - after all, this is the Laugh Stop!! You spoke the truth, by blaming the legal system, but I feel that part of the problem also is society in general - those who feel that 'others' should 'pay' for their lack of common sense, etc.

Kyra - I totally agree, and I personally know quite a few lawyers that should be at the bottom of the ocean, too!!

Big laughs and hugs to you both!

Hey, no need to apologize to SilverLady - She has a thick skin - just like a crocodile. Sometimes it's hard to tell them apart you know.

Lawyers - Hey, Shakespeare himself wrote, "The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers." "Henry VI", Part IV. .......and then there was that poor guy sitting on a cliff top crying. A person walking by asks him why he is crying. He says I just saw a bus load of lawyers go over the cliff. Oh says the passerby, that's really sad. "No, he says, you don't understand, one of the seats was empty".

I know it's old but it make ME

Well thank you for the reassurance but I really need to post the apology. I am not one to start or take part in anything that would or could cause the tiniest bit of harm :P
