Blondes have more ---funds?

A recent study from the Queensland University of Technology shows blondes earn 7% more on average than women with other hair colours, and tend to marry men who earn on average 6% more than other women's husbands.
The survey of 13,000 women showed that the difference in pay was not connected with other factors such as height, weight or education.

On the other hand, a study by Lycos in 2008 showed that 78 of the world's top 100 billionaires had wives or long term girlfriends with brunette or raven hair...

Here's another tidbit. When arrested, attractive women are less likely to be convicted than unattractive women, and when convicted are less likely to be incarcerated rather than get AIC or the like, and when imprisoned tend to do less jail time.

No doubt blondes do the least time of all, at least Caucasian blondes.

I don't get the info on blonds. apparantly its nothing to do with blondness its that its rarer than brunette and people in scandinavian countries where there are more blonds have a thing for dark hair. surely that can't be true as red hair is most rare.
some used to say that naturally blond hair was a sign of higher oestrogen but then again so are wide pelvis but not all blonds have that. besides even though more oestrogen is meant to equal a better chance of high fertility however higher ostrogen and low testosterone in women is meant to cause low sex drive and the higher the tesosterone the higher the sex drive. of course statistics will say anything and science changes. could be all rubbish.
Me i never had a thing for blonds. occasionally one will be damn hot but no I like brunettes i like really dark hair and curly hair I'm more likely to let a woman get away with stuff if shes has dark curly hair

Blondes and money has mostly to do with ethnic background and thus class. In English speaking countries natural blondes are usually English or northern European ancestry.
They have the right connections, schooling, and so on to attract money and power in their men.

now that i think about it my ex was blond ehem lol but to be fair she wasn't naturally blond it was bleeched and spiky but in my defense i wasn't dating her for her blondness it was her massive tits!

Hmm...interesting.
From my experience as a sociologist, usually this kind of very counter-intuitive correlation disappears once you control a relevant variable you wouldn't have thought of. There was a study, for example, that found shorter people get better grades than taller people; the correlation however disappeared when you control the respondent's gender: the actual explanation was that girls do better in high school than boys (because of the culture in which the study was carried out, in which girls were more encouraged than boys to care about their grades), and also, statistically speaking, girls do tend to be shorter than boys. In the language of social sciences, this is called "to be correct for false reason"; usually, one should be very circumspect about counter-intuitive correlations like this.
My guess for this-one would be that it has to see with racial/ethnic inequality; blonde women are very unlikely to be any other race than white and also unlikely to be of latino/south-american/hispanic descent. If the "ethnicity" variable is controlled, I wonder if the correlation would still stand.
Another guess that may explain it, if the study used aggregated data from many countries (don't know if they did, the article ddoes not specify a methodology) is the simple fact that countries where blond people live are more developed/richer than others, with less of a blond population.
But then again, I don't know much about how the study has been carried out...

thats a very good analysis and brings up points i certainly wouldn't have thought of. Makes me think of other cases where this might be true that a correlation is true for the wrong reasons

leticia I enjoyed your example of short people doing better in school. I remember from my days as a psych major that there are a great many such examples.
