IQ Scores

Post by Edyta_C »

I am sure there is quite a spread in score amongst us here on the forum. I was told I had a high IQ, but that was the same parents that changed their mind about whether I should be raised a girl or boy.

I think that high IQs would need to be paired with a strong competitive drive for one to "get rich from a high IQ". Many of us on the forum don't have the super type A drive. I never wanted to compete, except for striving to do better that the last time. Golf is an example. I never really wanted to do better than the others in the foursome, but always wanted to beat my last score. I'd rather collaborate than compete.

My score has consistently been 137 throughout elementary, middle school, high school, and college. Back in the day, the total SAT score possible was 1600, and I scored 1370. Most importantly (as others already said) these numbers are only that: a bunch of numbers. What was that worst-selling book titled, "If You're So Smart, Why Aren't You Rich?" That's certainly the story of my life. #-o

Hi Caith
There is no correlation between wealth, power and intelligence. I know some people who are dumb as a stump, their lives are a mess but they're rich. Go figure.
If you have a high IQ,take it to Starbucks and with that and 5 bucks they'll give you a coffee. Never underestimate the power of an idiot. A certain President comes to mind. Hugs.

TG and IQ

Post by Sally »

I've never engaged in an IQ test since my days at university, but as I recall my test then was nothing outstanding, but I did manage to complete my courses to successfully enter my chosen profession at that time. Over the years I've mixed with countless numbers of people in the TG world, and I can't say that I've noticed any marked difference as to higher or lower intelligence percentages in comparison to the general community.

Some people may believe they notice a difference, but maybe it's just because with us we have a smaller number of people to work with in comparison to the general community, but then of course one never knows who is who and what is what with the general community because so many people live 'their secret'.

One thing which a group of us noticed in the late 1990's, on that particular occaison, was the high number of us who are gifted with musical ability. One night I was at a gathering ( a ball in fact ) of people from the TG world, which numbered around 400/500, and during the night several of us took over from the band and did a spot using their instruments, and it just grew from there. People were coming up continuously asking to do a spot, and it seemed like every second person in the hall could play guitar, drums, piano, sax or sing in key etc.

Whether this was a unique occurrence to that particular night with that particular group of people I can't say with any authority, but on that night it was a very unusual high number of people who displayed their musical talents.

Kind Regards,

Sally.

I got tested at an IQ of 152 when I was younger

I don't think its anything to brag about - it put me in the top 2% percentile - in other words there are a million people in the UK as smart as me or smarter.

My talents lie in the mathematical/scientific/engineering fields. I'd love to play a musical instrument but can't.

Moral - be happy with who you are and what talents you have.

IQ test,,ha ha ha, I never took one, I never saw one. I think the last scholarly type test that I took was in 8th grade in school and I think that I cheated on it.

Sorry but i'm on the lower end of the tg intelligence spectrum. This is where I dance.

I am a very intelligent person! I am also very successful!

That said the IQ thing is no longer a scale of measure and here is why!

1. Street Smarts - If you have them you are smart!

2. Book Smarts - If you have them you are smart!

3. Cunning - if you are cunning you are smart!

4. Intuitive - if you are intuitive you are smart!

I work with book smart people with huge IQ's that are almost helpless!

I worked with an engineer so dedicated to his work that he never married and I am sure he has never had sex and we just celebrated his retirement! How smart is that! YES HE IS SMART!

People who work around this Doctor of Chemistry agree he is an amazing individual of knowledge. However he has never consumated a single relationship with a woman! Smart Yes! Successful NO! In my opinion.
I have been out for over a year already WOW!
