We are in record breaking temperature mode once again. Bright sunny, <10% chance of a light shower, > 90% chance of dry and hot, hot, hot, hot. So hot you just really don't wanta eat or anythng. I'm gonna pave it over with concrete and paint it green. In the OKC area, points south and southeast and southwest. The high was 113 again, three hours after the peak it is still 109 degrees F and the LOW temperature is expected to be 87F at about 6 a.m. Relative humidity is 16%. so there are wildfires all over the place, 5 major ones so far, with 100 homes destroyed total so far in the five areas. One fire was apparently set by a person in a F-150 pickup truck, dark blue or black, who was seen tossing burning newspapers from his vehicle. The witness turned around to chase him buit the driver of the pickup fled before he could get close enough. By the time firefighters could respond to the area set on fire, the thing was beyond their control. That fire has (or rather is still doing so) burned through the east half of the town of Luther. Lots of destruction. One person who has lost his home, pets, and livestock that were penned with water says the cops better get the guy before he does or he and his brothers with save the state the expense of a trial. There are other smaller fires that are being contained by local firefighters aorund the state.

Near where I live, there is a 200 square mile area still on fire and expanding to the north, but away from me. No one seems to know how that one started. With humidities so low, and winds of 19-25 mph, and lots of cedar trees (that burn explosively), I really don't know what will stop them for the next week. Firefighters are fighting the fires with hoses, water trucks and Chinook helocopters, but the area is too wide for them to be effective, I'm afraid. High temps and low humidities for the next week. Tomorrow (Saturday) may only reach 108F, but since the morning low will be 87F I think they are being optimistic or dreaming pipe dreams, or wishful thinking.
