I made a challenging type post on the UK forum Roses, and most there believe team USA will beat England, or at least they want them to.

Let the men on the pitch do the talking and may the best team (England of course) win!

My goodness, are we talking about sports? Watching a munch of men running around a field trying to get hit in the head by an egg-shaped rubber ball and then if it does not hit them in the head they get mad and kick it. Now when the girls team plays, that is much different.

Egg-shaped? It ain't rugby
Note that team USA will be playing soccer while team England will be playing football.

Well the game didn't go as I would have liked it to but oh well. Now not understanding the game what do you do when there is no winner or a loser?.
Looking at a few other games I have seen scores of 0 to 0, how can that be?.
Me I will stick with the game I love and understand, Baseball.

Ties count too, in the early rounds, where they are graded on a point system and number of total goals scored break ties.
Result Points
Win (no penalty shootout) 3
Win (penalty shootout) 2
Draw 1
Loss (penalty shootout) 1
Loss (no penalty shootout) 0
Highest two teams advance to the next round.
And the USA played rather poorly, IMO. They were supposed to be better with teamwork where the UK had more skilled players. Seems the UK had better teamwork as well.
We were quite lucky to have scored. UK's goalie, Green, took his eye off the ball at the last instant and muffed the catch.

Thank goodness for DVR. Just finished watching the USA match. Whew!
I was hoping not to hear the score all day, and didn't.
Congrats to England for advancing as well.
One of the teams is going to have to go up against Germany in the final 16.

Ok.... Someone really needs to set some rules for that game... Refs that can disallow goal just because the want to and add time when they want to?? Lol. And anyway... Its not really a sport unless its played on ice with razors on your feet and sharp sticks with chunks of rubber flying around at 100 mph!
