I've seen a couple of trucks here in DC. Mostly there are food carts parked on some of sidewalks.

There are lots of them in Oakland and San Francisco. The big news a few weeks ago was that the trucks are now creating Twitter and Facebook accounts that allow their fans to know where they're going to be at any given time in the day.

Cool! Some of my best meals have come from the "roach coach" when I lived in the Metro Detroit area. Well, that's what my dad and all the construction guys called them, but the ones that came by our office buildings were a bit more upscale. Wonderful food at very reasonable prices!!

I remember eating lunch off one of those roach coaches many times, but I can only remember 2 cities where they actually made any money or the owners a decent living. New Orleans in the mid 70's, and Los Angeles in the mid 90's. I don't remember the food being so nutricious but it did taste good and filled the stomach.
