Hi, Carol Ann!
We're doing fine up on the mountain, high winds sound worse than a Howler Monkey

and we have our first snow fall, albeit just a dusting of it - maybe a 1/4" at most where it hadn't melted off; the snow does look pretty on the mountainside, though, and at least it's melted off the gravel roads. Virginia said we lost power on/off yesterday, never off for more than 10 minutes at it's longest.
Most of the schools and colleges have closed for the next couple of days, but no store closings yet (dang it all, that means I have to go to work today, and thanks to this weather I woke up with a nasty headache - yuck!).
The birds are frantic because there's very little food in their feeders - the Blue Jays are squawking up a storm - but it's too cold and windy to think about going out there to refill the feeders - they can either wait for the winds to die down or they'll go back to finding their own food (for a while, anyway)!
To all our friends in the Great Lakes and New England areas . . . we hope you're prepared for this storm, and be safe!

I too am glad that both you & Virginia are doing ok. You're high up enough not to have to worry about flooding, but the snow fall that they are predicting may cause you a problem. Especially if the power goes out for a few days. Make sure you have enough fire wood to stay warm, and be safe.

Thank you for your concern, ladies!
No flooding worries here - if there were, we'd need an Ark! - and we only had a dusting of snow, and all that is gone now. Other than the brief 'burps' in power outage on Monday - before the storm really hit us - we've maintained power, which also means water as we're on our own well system.
School resumed today for this area and no stores were closed. However, I ended up taking today 'off' due to my weather-induced migraine ... I decided that 'working' with it for 3 days in a row was too much, so I stayed home today with some strong meds to knock that sucker out of my system; my boss is not happy with me, but that's his problem . . . my health comes first!
