I haven't really got the time to visit much. Been just too busy. Traveled to visit our relatives back in Mexico, then after getting back it was college move-in day for both our kids, so as of last month we have been "empty-nesters". It is really odd. I miss my kids! But they are just where they need to be at.
The trip to take our son to his college in Virginia was an odyssey in itself! We left him close to 11 am and by 4pm we had only advanced about 90 miles! Take this... heading to TN from Virginia on the Saturday before the sun eclipse on Sunday... had to go through Knoxville, which is next to Bristol TN where that same evening there was a Nascar race... also, that same day was move-in day for UT Knoxville. So, when we finally crossed into TN, there were no hotel rooms available, at all. We ended up having to stay at the only place we were able to find... a really ugly, dated, dirty Days Inn in Greenville TN, which normally goes for 39.99 per night, but of course, that night was $180.00, take it or leave it.
Anyway, we made it back home safely. Work has been mighty busy... have some projects at home (painting, gutters) which I'm not doing myself! I have many talents... working that kind of stuff is not one of them!
Anyway, just checking in, hope all is good with you all!

Re: It has been a busy summer
Glad to see you are still around Gaby. I have always enjoyed your posts and when we have been together in Chat. Summers have a way of keeping us busier than we plan on being. Fall is around the corner and hopefully things will settle down a bit for you.
I never had kids of my own however when I married my first husband I was blessed to have two stepdaughters, 12 and 15 at that time, and we bonded quickly and to me they became and still are as close to me as if they were my genetic children. When Megan went off to college it was upsetting to both Frank and I as well as her mother but we still had Caroline around. It was when she went off to college it hit all of us those "little girls" were growing up and becoming young women. Enjoy the peace and quiet but I understand what you mean.Gabriela wrote: It is really odd. I miss my kids!
