Turnabout Intruder

Post by CJ »

Hi all,

Just saw a Star Trek (Original Series) episode recently. It's one of my favorites, called "Turnabout Intruder," in which Janice Lester, a former flame of Capt. Kirk's, uses an alien device to "switch" bodies with him out of a morbid jealousy for his status as starship captain.

How I wished, when I was a kid, that such a device actually existed! Of course, I look at the episode now and notice how shrewish and overly emotional they made this woman out to be. Still, the scene where Kirk is delicately filing his nails is precious!

Love,
CJ

Hmmm, switch bodies with someone temporarily. Interesting. So many possibilities. Can I only switch once?

Maybe I'd switch with Marilyn Monroe. Oh, wait...I guess I'd have to chose someone alive, huh? Maybe Jenny Lopez. (You know, just to be rich and famous and beautiful...)

Like I said, Soooo many possibilities.

Hugs,
Kyra

I couldn't let this go by without my response.

Here is my scenario for using the machine -

My wife and I would plan a long romantic weekend, have the device in the bedroom within easy reach for both of us - time for some really different experiences and if it got too overwhelming for either one of us, we could switch back. It would give us each much better knowledge of each other that would last the rest of our lives.

Is this too boring for some of you? That's OK, use your own imagination :)

I used to LOVE any episode of any TV show where 2 characters accidentally switched bodies... rotf

There was an old Gilligan's Island episode where they did get off of the island (only temporarily) only to land on some island where some scientist was condicting some very cruel experiments on them! The best was the body switching - the funniest was the switch between the Skipper & Ginger! Someone wanted to give Ginger a kiss & all you heard was Skipper's voice "Kiss me and I'll belt you!" rotf

Anyone remember the show Highway To Heaven? Michel Landon played an angel and had his sidekick following him (big dude w/ a beard - I forget his name but the character's name was Mark) In one episode he switched bodies with an actress - that was hilarious! rotf

Lastly, who could forget the Scooby Doo movie? (Not the new one but the first) There was the scene where Fred & Daphne accidentally siwtched bodies. Fred was like "Hey - I can look at myself naked!" rotf
Live it. Love it. OWN IT.

How about the TV series Quantum Leap?

Scott Bakula went into a different body in a different time each episode - he looked like himself dressed in the clothing of the "body du jour" but there was always at least one time when the reflection in the mirror was the exact character that he was portraying.

He did portray females sometimes, including at least once a pregnant woman and my favorite a beauty pageant contestant in a southern belle outfit.

I was kind disappointed on how it ended.
