I've noticed over the years that the total members listed at the bottom of the index page goes down from time to time. One day it was 1845 and the next it was 1803. Why is this? Just curious.

Briefly, I routinely cull members from the rolls for a variety of reasons which are fully explained at the link below:

If any of those members also started topics, those are deleted in their entirety at the same time; this has been enforced from the very beginning of this forum.

Accordingly, one may see their 'total post' count decrease as a result of the deleted topic (and all replies).
