How to shop for clothes

General talk about CD/TGing and gender topics that aren't necessarily fun things we do while en femme, or for gender-driven discussions.

How to shop for clothes

Post by Shelby »

I have been trying to purchase some clothes for myself online and have been finding it difficult to buy the right size. How do you determine what dress size you should buy? Or what size skirt? So many items are listed as size 12 or 14, typical woman's sizes but, how do we, as men, know what to pick?
There's no way I am going to a store to try stuff on so that is out of the question.

Most online catalog sites provide a sizing chart in inches. As per my previous post to you, dresses are hard to fit a male body, bigger shoulders, longer torso, no hips. Try separates, you might need a larger size up top than downstairs.
Since your wife is so supportive, go together to a thrift store and stock up. Prices are cheap and returns are easy.

Keay I said that also at one time. That is until one day when shopping the sales gal says to me " can I start a room for you". I sputtered out a a a sure you can do that. As she turned I reviewed my attire; yep I was in male mode. I resisted running from the store in fear and they were great to me. That was a mind blowing experience to say the least. An I learned that sales associates, most of them just like helping you find what you are looking for. I now shop in both male and femme modes at the stores.

Prior to that I did a lot of shopping online, but hated that often things did not fit right or look good on me. And I hate doing returns both online or in the store. Now most of my shopping is in store and have a great time doing that and most of the time try on before I buy something. Go to full service stores and you will quickly build a relationship with the sales gals. Be good to the sales gals and respect the other customers and you will be treated a just another customer of theirs.

Otherwise shop online but make sure you check the measurements before you buy. The good sites will give you measurements and not just a size. Separates are easier to fit a body like yours or full flare dresses. A good return policy helps also. If you want them fitted find a good seamstress.

I really blew it! I made my ex take all her clothes out! We wear the same shoe size and when she was a little bigger these cloths fit me! Nice expensive attire! Blew that, but who knew I'd be dressing out! And, this just happened 2 weeks ago! I am wearing some outfits she left behind, and I feel wonderful in them. Some makeup too, so I have beginnings...I can't wait to get the guts to go shopping. I'm a mall hound now anyway, but as a woman...sheesh what a thrill that's going to be!

Hi.

I don't know your sizing over there so cant say on that part.
how ever ,

I used to buy clothes for Jos many years ago and would pick them up and on line I knew all Jos,s sizings , so was not an issue and if they did not look right or fit muggings took them back so I knew to to see most times ,

For myself I would order on line for Jos and Later myself both sets of sizings and I would talk with the women as well . shoping for myself wheres the problem , none

now I know many staff and have done and have a good repore with them and over the years they have become friends to both Jos and myself,

Too the sizing get that tape out and do across the shoulders ill give you mine as a ie= .

shoulders across 18 in,s the size is 18 or for some clothes 18 to 20.

bust 16 D = 41 in,s real .

waist 16 = 34 to 35 in,s or skirt size

hips upper 39 ins, lower 38 ? depending on where

height 5 , 9 ,

weight 11 1/.2 , stone = 154 lb or 70 kg close enough

shoe mens 8 womens 11 .

myself I only need to look at = say the skirt I,ll know what the size is I dont tape it to check,

so all youll need to do is tape your self write it down and keep it with you ......when you go shoping .....or get sales lady to tape you and there you go ,

........................ The more Friends you have,, the Less youll have to Ask, ..........................
