For the most part, no one ever says anything. In a cpl of stores I will answer honestly and say 'Yes, its for me.'. I use WalMart when I need some more panties, just easy in, easy out, and no one says a thing. If you're worried about comments and dont mind a little wait, just get one of the lines that is busiest and the SA seems a bit haggered. They just want to get everyone through as soon as they can for that next break.

I have got to post on this one. Thinking back to all of my times shopping and that goes back to high school I do not think I have ever used an excuse. Of late I have been trying on more in the store which has made my clothes fit and feel better [sarcasm] who would have thought [/sarcasm]. I have gotten the question most recently when shopping at Target for a swimsuit when I wanted to try it on the lady at the counter said "you?"
I told her "yes"
She chuckled and said she wanted to see how it fit.
I did not show her and bought the suit. Then again when I bought the pants I am currently wearing (Gloria Vanderbilt) the checker ask the question if they were for me? I told him yes and he had the look of Oh My God He Did Not Just Say They Were For Him. Sometimes it is worth them learning the lesson of do not ask questions for which you do not want the answer.

yep, I simply buy what I need when I need it without worry of what people will think. When I first started out I worried, but after a while it simply grates on ones nerves to have to worry.
Its been a breeze ever since. Not to mention comical to see the reactions on people's faces when i am buying something contrary to my gender
*hugs*

no excusses here
No i learned quickly that it was just easier to say the clothes are for me could you help me find my size etc,& the i usually go try them on & since i mostly shop at womens stores only & being honest makes it much more fun as they usually bring several pairs of pants to try ,ask would you like to try on some tops & the good stores offer size advice like I think you should try a smaller size that stlye of top is suppose to be tight fitting.Ilove shoppng but if your loking for a unique excuse , when i bought my wig the lady asked was i the actor that called earlier, thought now that would be a good excuse. While I am mostly femme when i shop for Denise, there is the very seldom time when I am away, Drab, that I see a shop I have never been in, that I like to look around/
If I see something I like and I want to try it on, I will just ask the sales girl if I can try it on.
The last time that this happened to me, I was in a ladies store of a major chain, and found a denim skirt that I had been looking for in the right size as the store i usually go to, did not have it.
I asked if I could try it on. The sales associate, without even a flinch, said sure, I tried it on, fit right so I bought it.
I have also been in a store looking at items, and had the sales girl, come up and ask me, Would you like to try it on.
If you are up front with the people, i find that they will help you after all a sale is a sale, no matter who it is to

I really don't feel that I need an 'excuse' to buy anything I want. I've never had trouble from store clerks, & if anyone was rude to me in that situation I would probably ask to see the manager. OTOH some people esp. ladies around my age or younger can be very helpful and understanding if you want to find something in a different size, etc.
