So I was out shopping today dressed (with my wife Stormy) -- we stopped in a health food store and I'm just looking at vitamins killing a little time, and the nice clerk tries to help me .. and as we are talking she says "not sure where you are with regards to menopause.....if you aren't there yet try these, if you're justt starting this one will help with hot flashes,..." I hadn't thought about a response to that one --caught me totally off guard. So I finally pulled myslef together and said I just wasn't quite there yet....Stormy was looking over her shoulder being amused and was no help at all and I'm thinking why isnt this nice clerk helping her and letting me browse quietly....

So the good news was I definately was passing....

jeez

Anyone else gotten a perfectly appropriate question for a woman that they weren't at all prepared for?

Missy, that is just tooooooo cute! A lot of us would be hard pressed to come up with an answer to that one other than what you said. Virginia probably would have just burst out laughing before SL would have drug her out of the store.

I guess the one time that comes to mind was one Saturday evening, going to a movie at one of these multi-plex theaters and having this cop actually seem to go out of his way to open the door for me, I smiled and just said, "thank you!" His reply and I quote, "Anytime, honey!"

I could have asked if that was a gun in his pocket or was he just glad to see me but that did not seem appropriate! :-k

Moving right along!!!

Love,

Virginia

Hi, Missy -

Your response could have been, "Well, I'll be sure to keep that in mind should I ever need them!" . . . or something similar!

Talk about validation, well, you just got it with flying colors, hon . . . ain't it great!?! =D>

I think my response would have been, "Do I look that old?"

Hey, Donna - How old does one have to be to go through menopause . . . and think very carefully before you respond!! :-k

I'm "not that old" and have already gone through it, and with no hot flashes (my mother was the same way)! =D> *-* =D>

Well, my wife wasn't "that old" either, but I doubt the clerk would have been comfortable asking another customer about menopause. :P

Maybe you could have just commented that you don't get your period and left it at that.....
