I've recently completed a cross stitch baby blanket for the arrival of my
nephew. However, he is due any day and I need to wash the blanket at
home quickly instead of waiting on the dry cleaners. I'm scared to death
that I will ruin this blanket if I wash it at home. Please Help!!!

How can I wash a cross stitch at home without having my colors run?

Ashley; I have done quite a bit of satin stitch embroidery using DMC floss. I have washed pieces by hand using cold water and dish soap with good results. I would test a corner, or a leftover piece from the same skein first, though.

There are kits that let you dry clean items in your dryer, but you might want to think twice about doing that with something for a newborn.

Your design is adorable! Good luck, and congratulations on becoming an auntie!

My wife does cross stitch, and I've not seen colors run when washed.

Just use cold water and woolite.
