I have been trying to purchase the correct size girdle for me and not buy to many to find out what size I need. Can someone give me any advice as to sizing. I wear men's jockey shorts waist size 44. My pantyy size is 8 in hi cuts and 9 in briefs from Bali. Thank all for your help and advice.

PaulaC,
You need to go to a website where you can find a sizing chart, most site have a chart and tell you what you need to know.

I would strongly urge that you use the url noted (
www.guysingirdles.com/index.html) as an excellent resource on sizing. I found of particular interest the part of "Women's Girdles for Men" the sub-section titled "How to Measure for a Women's Girdle"
Until I read that, I spent (too much) money onone that was too tight and on another that was too loose in the seat.
Good luck in your shopping!

Interesting site, but it only deals with girdles that also cover the crotch. I wonder is the girdle size is different for a OBG?

JoAnn, the sizing for a girdle should remain the same whether it is a panty girdle or an OBG. The sizes are for women and based on the waist and hip size with most accommodating a differential in the 8 to 10" range. I wear a size 10 skirt and generally a medium girdle fits me just fine.

I recently went to Sally Anne's Corset Shop in Chicago for a fitting, intending to buy a high waist zipper panty girdle. We found that, at least for me, I took a considerably smaller size in an open bottom zipper girdle than in a HWPG, even though both were by Rago. So for me, there seemed to be a real difference in panty vs. open sizes

Look up "Zona, the girdle zone". Lots of info there. Generally, 2" under on the waist size will give you a snug fit at the hips. Womewn difference is about 12 inches, man about 5".

I am surprised you can wear a size 8 in panties with a 44 inch waist, like you I am a fuller figured girl and wear larger panty size then that. I find that most girdles run small, so be prepared to move up in sizes.

I need a max of a 28" waist in girdles - they are getting harder to find

I'm not an expert but I do know that some girdles tend to "roll down" For an all-in-one, OBG, I've found that going with your breast size works best....at least for me>

I wear mostly girdles that have boning around the waist to stop the roll down. I also like the firmer support they have. But the boned girdles, and really girdles in general are getting harder and harder to find.

I've found a lot of variation in girdle size, depending on style. I have both a medium and large girdle that fit well. I do like the boning in the waist, to both prevent roll down and help slim the waistline. Just wish I had the ovaries to try them on in the store. LOL.
