Waist Training belt?

Does anyone know anything about the Genie Hour Glass? I was thinking of ordering one but I'm not sure what size to order. In the past when ordering a corset I always went a size small because of the way they fit but this one says the sizes are pretty true to form. I have a 35/36 inch waist so I don't know if I should go for the Large or XL. What do you think?

I wish they would provide a better explanation when they make statements like, "runs true to size". It would be more helpful if they stated, "order the size that fits your current waist measurement" or "order the size you wish to achieve to a max 4 inches".

I am guessing that you order your current size, the XL. You can "click to chat" window and just ask.

Personally, I would click on the the box that is marked "Need Assistance" and talk to them. I'm sure you won't be the first gurl to call and ask for help with a sizing problem. Don't take a chance on getting the wrong size and having to send things back.

Maybe it's just me, but I feel if you have to pay $16 "P&H" for something that costs $20, you're being taken!

I know, It's office is in CT but it ships from China. Not that that is bad. Most of my corsets have come from China. Now my wife wants one so maybe I'll let her order it, see how it works for her and then order for myself. lol

They don't have any reason to be misleading on sizing instructions. So unless you are willing to talk to the support people to clarify, then I would order the size based on their instructions.

That said, if you do make the order, please keep us posted with both the ordering and fulfillment process and what you think about the product.

LADIES,
I am not against these items, but I know of what I speak. Please be very careful with these things. Wearing them for a short time (2 - 3) hours probably won't create any problems but "waist training" i.e., wearing them for longer periods of time can cause you internal problems. They can force internal organs into unnatural positions and put stress on parts of your anatomy internally that may not need or want additional stress.
EXERCISE AND DIET! There are a lot of ways to "narrow" your waist with a variety of abdominal exercises that you can do at home. Just "google" abdominal exercises on the net! Lots of things you can do. Need motivation? Stand naked in front of a full length mirror and ask yourself what your willing to do for............... well you know!

This 'training' belt looks bulky to me. Also beware of fantastic TV ad results. Girdles and cinchers have been sold for centuries. Consider buying something that will last longer, look better, and a known brand name.

So I have expressed before the waist deserves the lifetime achievement award for supporting actress when it comes to figure. I envy (perhaps covet?) the X shaped silhouette rather the Y shape. That said, I have looked into the whole waist training thing a bit. Virginia's comments that exercise and diet are right on.

Now this particular belt, though its name includes "training" is describe as a glorified clincher to be used when you are trying to display an enhanced figure. In fact, the web site states (in so many words) that it doesn't provide any permanence.

So, if you use it while trying to dress to impress and it is only for an evening or and afternoon shopping, probably no big deal. Provided of course, it is on par or better than other shapeware products.

As an aid to the elusive X shape in the long term? Probably not helpful and possibly a harm.

Depends on your goals.

None the less, I am still anxious to hear a product review.

We prefer the term 'hourglass', Kelly. The figure shape is more rounded than an X.

Oh my, I just realized that except for the 'Wizard of Oz' movie, youngsters now days don't even know what an hourglass is!

I ordered one, got it in this week. I ordered the L/XL. It just fit. Funny thing is I had a 34/36 waist when I ordered it but because my new job I have lost some weight. It just fit but my wife loves it.
