Hair Removal

I'm really excited about my new epilator. It's an Emjoi Emagine with 72 tweezers. My wife gave it to me for Christmas. If its OK with the moderators, I'd like to give a review of it.

I've been shaving my legs, chest, armpits and "other areas" for about three years now. I began shaving my arms just a few months ago during the summer. So, now I'm hair-free from the neck down. (BTW: Yes I wear shorts in summer, and short sleeves pretty much year-round. And, no I have never heard a negative comment while out and about. When friends and family ask about it, I just tell them I like the way it looks and feels.)

I was having to shave about three times a week, and as early as the day after shaving I could see stubble on my arms. I also dealt with razor rash/ingrown hairs on my arms and bikini area. I found myself getting self-conscious and wearing jackets or sweaters at times. Not anymore. My hair is growing back much finer, and I only need to touch up 1 or 2 times a week. The razor rash and ingrown hairs are almost all gone and the redness is fading.

It hurt the first time I used it, but nowhere near as bad as I imagined. Now, after about 3 weeks of using it, it's pain-free. My wife loves that my legs don't get stubbly and scratchy anymore--makes for better cuddling. I love how easy it is to maintain the look and feel I want. It works great on legs, chest, arms, armpits, bikini area. Just DON'T use it on your more sensitive skin "down there." Also, I tried it on my chin and found out it just doesn't do anything on my really coarse facial hair, but I didn't really expect it to.

It's definitely worth the investment if you like to stay nice and smooth. In the long run it will pay for itself with money saved on shaving products.

Thanks for the review.

I have an Epilady that I got at Target some years ago and am less than thrilled with it. It works ok, but it takes a loooooooooong time. It takes probably 45 minutes to do one leg, and then needs a recharge before the next one. Otherwise, I'm happy with the results, just not happy with how long it takes. So generally I skip it and just shave, even though it's not as smooth.

Maybe it's time for me to upgrade.

I forgot to mention, this one is not cordless, but it has a nice long cord.

Mine has a cord also. Cordless would be nice. But with how long it takes for me to do a leg, especially when I do not keep them up, I would not get both of them done. It must take me 2-3 hours at least when I do not keep my legs up. When I do keep them up and am just doing a touch up then i can usually get done in about 30 minutes give or take. Then a cordless would be nice.
