Consider stores for young women and "Juniors" departments

I've had a lot of success finding stuff I like at good prices in clothing lines aimed at the late-teen/twentysomething market. They can be found in stores like Forever 21, H&M and Charlotte Russe, and in the "Juniors" sections of department stores (might be called something else at a given store).

Take a look at their web sites to get an idea of the styles they sell. Their offerings change frequently and cover a wide range, from trendy and flashy to basics like jeans, blazers and sweaters.

The biggest downside is that sizing inconsistency, the bane of women's clothing in general, seems even more pronounced in these clothes than in the "Misses" and "Womens" lines. About all you can be sure of is that a Large is bigger than a Medium - and that's only when comparing the exact same item! Some of the chains that sell clothes made for them under their own brand names do better in that regard, but you'll still want to try on most items. Sizing is a mix of "Misses" (even numbers), "Juniors" (odd numbers), actual waist or bust size, and Small-Medium-Large-etc. Note that some of the stores have added Plus sizes to these lines, so don't rule them out just because you're not a skinny teenager.

They do have cute clothes. But they do not fit my fluffy figure.
