Store Reward Programs

We, the better half and I, belong to all kinds of store reward programs to get the freebies and discounts. Nothing like free food and goodies in this economy. We don't get harassing phone calls and get most of our promos via email. Too much SPAM; that's what filters are for and setting up your store email preferences. A reputable brand is good about obeying your preferences otherwise, you drop them and block them which costs them your business.

It's birthday time so the rewards kick in to bribe me to visit their stores. Lane Bryant manages to have a sale going to coincide with my free money from them. Nice :) got new panties on sale with an additional $10 off. Lane Bryant is one of those stores that know we girls are good business. Treat us right and they have a customer for life. And these sales folk are so friendly and helpful no matter if you come in drab or all prettied up. Dressing rooms are not out of bounds; just work with them.

Yesterday I visited Ulta to spend my free money and get my free little gift. I step in the door with my fur face with a goal in mind. I want to try getting away from Dermablend and get a lighter (less coverage) foundation plus try to save money with a less expensive brand. I was greeted and asked if I needed help. I told the sales person (BTW, they do have an occasional boy sales person) what I was up to. She didn't blink, hesitate or stutter. We started talking brands and coverage as we visited the different brands. Standing by other customers, we tried a few shades for coverage. Nobody around us gave us a second thought. Doing a couple back and forth between a couple brands, I settled for the house brand and headed to the register. My help asked if I needed anything else; we parted as she went back to what she was doing before and my getting in line at the register. At the register, I presented my birthday coupons and was asked which freebie I wanted. I asked for the mascara. Out, what else would I like as she presented some alternatives. I settled for the blush. No questions about who for, just a "need anything else" and we settled the tab. I saved $10 for my birthday present to my self. Sephora is another good store for helping us girls, but I find them expensive and maybe too busy. I'm not rushed and get undivided attention at Ulta; not so much at Sephora, but they are friendly towards us girls.

Y'all need to visit stores and have some fun. Just be a normal shopper and you get normal service. Be honest and you get better service. Less trouble for them trying to help and better for you to get what you really want or need. The worst that can happen is you get a bad salesperson who does not make the store look good and doesn't make a sale. Most other customers are at the stores for the same reason you are and that's not to be harassing other customers, but to shop. Go out and shop!
