NEW WIG

Oh my God! My wig came today! Darker than I thought it would be. And I hadn't had time to prepare my wife. She brought in in off the porch, but didn't ask about it.

Now how do you get used to all this hair falling in your face ? :)

And my dog saw me walk in the living room with it on and was startled.

My wife was a little peeved at me last night, because I didn't ask her help in picking out the wig.

She was being cryptic about me getting one, so I thought she didn't want to have a part in it.

I gotta learn to ask more, instead of trying to read her mind.

Donna,

Asking your wife/SO works wonders with acceptance. Minee gave me her input on all of my wigs.

Hi DonnaT:

I agree with Jadeanne and Love. I always ask Mrs. Missy what she thinks before I buy. It's more enjoyable that way for us.

I would like to hear more about your dog's reaction. Sometimes they can be really funny !

I also agree with all the others about having a discussion about major purchases like a wig. I guess that's no surprise coming from an SO.

Maria bought the first wig at a resale shop. I knew she had done it but I would have preferred to be there to give input... It was red and smelled of cigarette smoke. ick. Not his color at all. After that we tried several more, from cheap halloween types to a couple in the wig store.

Well, we finally found the right one. I think part of it was that Maria has eased up on being soooo nervous about it all and let it happen when I asked the wig salesman to show him how to try it on (he assumed we were going to a costume party). The stricken look was really funny but it happened and we found the one that looks so very natural (this one is what his natural hair would look like if he were to grow it out) and it makes all the difference in the world!

And about the hair in the face? I still don't like it much. I pull it up in a ponytail if I don't have to feel "presentable", which means most of the time at home or at the gym, etc.

Yes, I should have definitely discussed it with her first, even if it was looking online. [-X |_|_|_|

As for my dog, Bonnie, she pricked up her ears and then sat up real fast ready to come bark at me, but then recognized my face. It was classic.
