What to wear under a translucent blouse?

The topic of the "see through blouse" comes up with some relish once in a while, with reference to your bra showing through.

Most blouses are made of opaque material or show just the ghost or a bra through the fabric (which many of us like).

What's proper to show? I've got a white silk shirt on right now, and a dark printed bra that shows through without revealing a lot of detail. Ought I be wearing a slip or camisole as well, were I to walk out the door? The bra could still be seen through the lace of the camisole and you'd see multiple straps, but is that the issue?

Yesterday I wore a fine cotton khaki colour grandad top in that vest style material that has fine holes in (kind of hard to explain :? ) I had a white bra with navy spots on and it looked awful so quick change into purple bra! White showed too much, dark colour looked more subtle. Still showed a bit but more like 'just ghosting' you couldn't see the detail. I personally think that is always the better option, if you can see bra detail...it doesn't look 'right' just my personal opinion!
Of course it does depend where you are going. I think I could get away with a translucent blouse and bra obviously showing in a nightclub but not everyday wear. I would wear a cami top with matching colour bra straps to the bra. I think, apart from in a nightclub, bra detail on show would be too much for me...I'd rather leave that to the imagination and for me and my other half to see!
