Bummer day to fem cloud 9

Post by Leeza »

Last Monday morning I picked up a GG friend and headed for an eye appointment in Grand Island NE, about 150 miles away. Our plans for the day were to do the eye appointment, dress, and have a girls shopping day.

We got there for the eye exam and found out I had the right day but wrong month. It totally bummed me out to where I didn't feel like dressing. In fact I was so bummed that I didn't even put my forms back in.

The GG who was with me wanted to look at some bridal dresses while we were there. We found a bridal shop and we went in to look at what they had. We were the only customers in there and had the feeling that we were not overly welcome. After the GG tried on one dress and was told they didn't have anything that would fit her because of her endowment, we left.

I had some stuff I wanted to pick up in Kearney. about 40 miles away on the way home. Rather than go back to the interstate we took a 2 lane highway. En route she popped the question and I was on fem cloud 9. When we got into town I turned 2 blocks before I should have so was taking the scenic route. As we were making the turn onto the street we should have been on she spotted a bridal shop in a mini mall.

We picked up the stuff I needed and went back to the bridal shop where she had me help her pick out dresses and help her get into them. There were 3 other girls in there at that time and you would have thought we were the only customer. The others were getting just as much attention as we were. I even got to help one of the girls with her dress.

The GG I was with told me that she was sure the others thought I was a woman even though I was completely drab. By that time I was flying high and the rest of the day was fantastic.

I have a lot of time to answer the question, and my answer will depend on certain things in my life situation, but whether I answer yes or no is not of as much importance as being asked.

The big question? “Will you be my matron of honor.”

Way kewl, Leeza! I wouldn't give it any thought; you or any girl don't get many chances to be a matron of honor or brides maid. I wouldn't want to miss the only possible chance.

With that said, I'm sure you feel honored as well as so lucky. :) good for you, girl.

The only thing holding me back is concern for my wife.

Even though I dress at home and in fromt of her, I know she is not real happy about it. I don't want to push her too far.

A difficult decision lies ahead for you, Leeza.

I think it's wonderful that your friend has asked this very impressive honor of you. It shows a great deal of character for her to do so.

Good luck with your decision. I don't know the details of your situation, but if there's a possibility of having the three of you sit and discuss, it might help your wife to understand how important this is for your friend and for you.

Hugs,
Kyra

It's important to remember that the main thing is that she has asked you to be her matron of honor. I read of a wedding recently where the maid of honor was a male, in complete male mode. I guess you could have called him the gentleman of honor or something. So please, if you arrive at an impasse due to the idea of wearing a dress, remember that you can still fill the role she has asked you to fill without addressing the whole TG issue. It is a way of putting the focus back on the wedding couple and how you are of service to them.

Matron of Honor

Wow how cool your friend thinks that much of you. And yes just the fact that she asked is quite enough. No doubt she put a fair amount of thought into before asking, it seems almost a disservice not to accept.
Most of us can only hope that some one would ask us, for me the answer would easily be yes.
