Ribbed sweater and jeans!!
Hello all: Just sitting around the apartment-- haven't "dressed" in a while-- have new stuff to try on-- so--
I am proud to say I have discovered the wonderful world of women's jeans!
Ordered several pair from WOMAN WITHIN and am trying one pair on right now...
The complete ensemble is: long-ish wig, peace sign pendant over short sleeved ribbed sweater (dark-- purple-ish, navy-ish), a pair of the new jeans, ankle high light brown/tan hiking boots/work shoes. Poncho! Hoop earrings!! (ah... that completes the "look"-- as a practice, anyway-- no make-up).
Sort of clean cut "hippie girl"-- what a late '60s high school girl might have worn as she was just becoming more... er... hippie-ish (so to speak).
Comfortable, cute and fun!!
Hope everyone is having a groovy holiday season!!
Peace'n' Luv-- Kendra Lynn ("hippie cheerleader").

Sunday's outfit
Hello all: Great weather (for FEB) in the Washington, D.C. area-- a great day to "dress." I attended the LAMBDA club (a GLBT science fiction/fantasy /comix group) meeting wearing the following: long-ish light brown wig, light blue short sleeve mock neck ribbed sweater (THE TOG SHOP), knee length light brown "button front" skirt (A-line, flares out nicely) (GAP), fuzzy white lace up boots (DAVID Z, New York). Peace sign pendant. White cable knit button front hooded sweater with "self belt" over that ("GAP" also). Big round sunglasses. "Preppie"/"Nice girl" with a hippie accent indeed. (my favorite look).
After the meeting, which was held a few blocks from Dupont Circle, I visited MELODY RECORDS. Right on Connecticut Avenue, a few blocks north of Dupont Circle, and perhaps now the ONLY "brick and mortar" store in the Washington, D.C. area with a really comprehensive selection of music CD's. Still in drag, of course. One of the former TOWER RECORDS employees now works there on weekends and it was good to run into him. One of the reasons I still miss TOWER is that I was a frequent visitor to the FOGGY BOTTOM store. I often went there in drag , and the staff were at best supportive, and at worst didn't care. It was a "safe space" and I miss it. And of course, their selection of "back catalog" CD's was among the best I've ever seen.
OK, a little off topic, but I'm sure there are others here with fond memories of TOWER RECORDS.
Best wishes to all for the new year!
Peace-- Kendra Lynn ("hippie cheerleader").

I've just got up so I'm sitting at the keyboard in my nightie, housecoat and slippers. I've got the day off today so I can dress the whole day (wonderful!). I've invited two girfriends round (one's a CDr the other's a GG) for a "girls only" day. I've got a new skirt and blouse that I want to show off. I'll have sone breakfast then start on the magical process of transforming myself into a girl. Getting dressed still gives me the same thrill as it did over 50 years ago when I first borrowed a dress and a pair of panties from my sister (with her and my mothers approval). And started out on my life as a part time girl. How I wish it could be full time. Thats why I can't wait to retire, get rid of my male clothes and live full time as the woman I always have been. I can't wait to be in skirts and dresses full time.
Love
Angela

Vacation...
With nearly a week vacation, I've had such a wonderful morning today. Got up at nearly 6am and did the shaving/shower drill, with coffee in hand and NPR as my soundtrack. Then with not a thing I need be doing (so rare!), so enjoyed the entire morning pampering myself to become the woman I feel I am now. Ok, let's recount... here's a list of dos that I've done:
●Shaved every hair below my eyes (though only needed a bit of a manicure, though still and forever a pain).
●Foundational makeup, let dry while I...
●Attached my breasforms from the breastformstore, transform classics, size 7 (=38D), ala Hollister's adhesive. (Thinking I may actually have the edges secure...)
●With a secure playtex bra, half-slip, and pantyhose, painted my 10 nails (Revlon's Cherries in the Snow) and did my ritual makeup to my glam-girl best.
●Changed into my wonderful Bali Lace-n-Smooth bra and slinked into this wonderful new dress I bought from Newport News (Shape fx® Surplice shirtdress 1CJ3471). How I love it!
●Put on my auburn Bayside wig (33R, from Beauty Trends), spending about half an hour getting it just right.
●Finally put on my lipstick, always my crowning glory. Today it's Estee Lauder's Woodland Rose (sadly, no longer available... a limited addition), the fragrance of which so brings me back to those lipsticks of yore, back when a lipstick had such a feminine scent.
●Lastly my pearl necklace, earrings, and perfume.
Now with the world raging outside, I'm all I know to be. And am so happy that not only am I all the woman I am possible (less hormones
), but am no longer plagued by doubt or self reprisals...
What a wonderful day!
Robyn

When lost, alone, and blue I know I can still get through the day... knowing I always have another shade of lipstick!

Considering I very rarely post in this section I just decided to be a little different today and post what I am wearing. Today I am wearing a cute Red Merona stretch polo and my CK denim Miniskirt with a pair of canvas Mary Janes. I think I look very cute.
Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons. As you are crunchy and good with chocolate!
