Charlene,

My petticoat is a white Malco Modes style 580 (knee length). All of the details are in my thread about petticoats.

Besides the Jessica Howard black print dress, once in a while I substitute a frilly red nightgown with a skirt a bit shorter.

My wife bought a high tech sewing machine a bit over a year ago and I'm slowly learning sewing with a caftan in progress. I have bought several patterns, including 2 for maid costumes.

Also, several times after we looked in fabric stores, she told me which fabrics would be best and we talked about colors, so some day she may surprise me. I have a bathrobe and several (male) shirts she has made for me in the past.

Was the maid uniform your first sewing project?

The maid's uniform was my only sewing project. I had to hand sew it since I don't have a sewing machine and if I did I don't know how to use one.
I have always been interested in sewing though.

I have arthritis in both hands and probably couldn't sew by hand very much without discomfort.

A while back, my wife gave me a book, Sewing For Dummies and it was pretty good. My wife, who has made things for a long time, said that it was a good book.

You could check libraries, book stores, etc. for sewing books.

My wife also told me that the instructions that come with patterns are good learning tools.

If you really want to learn to sew, keep at it and each project should give you more knowledge and sharpen your skills.

I don't get much of an opportunity to do this.

This morning I'm wearing an Eddie Bauer long charcoal grey cotton dress - zippers on the hem, arms, and bodice to adjust slits on this cold day. Knit tights, charcoal, from Europe, Mary Janes from Nordstrom outlet, a long poly slip, and Bali cotton bra & panties. Comfort.

Anne,

That does sound like a nice outfit. I'm heading to church in a while, so it's boy clothes for me now.

My wife is alredy at church, teaching Sunday School. I'll probably be wearing her outfit later on today  .

I took a look there - some beautiful clothing, but WAAAAY out of my price range. I'll just look there and appreciate them.

Tonight, following my tradition, I'm wearing mostly my wife's church outfit.

From my wife's outfit: pretty much a repeat, teal blue Tumbleweeds jumper, Green floral Basic Editions long sleeved pullover top, white Sears full slip, and her turquoise and silver bracelet watch.

The rest - navy blue Basic Editions pumps with 2 inch heels, brown beige National stockings with reinforced heel and toe, 2 silver neck chains, silvertone and black enamel clipon hoop earrings with matching bangle bracelet, my bleached blonde wig.

Underneath - white Adonna longline bra, white Cortland Foundations 6 garter OBG, white boned Jaqueline Smith waist cincher, green Hanes satin panties. I'm pouffing out the skirt a bit with my white petticoat.

We know what Beauty is wearing tonight (wow!). What are the rest of you girls wearing tonight?
