First Time Walking Out of the House!

Hey Everyone,

While I did go to the Be-All conference in Chicago this past June, I had never left my house "en femme" until Sunday. My wife encouraged my to dress (it had been over 3 months) and I took about one and a half hours to get ready and then after we took some pictures, I suggested that we go out for a drive.

I actually was half-joking when I said it but she was completely down for it! Once she got ready, I got a tiny case of the jitters but figured, what the heck, it's almost midnight and it's pitch black outside where I live.

So we hop into the car and start driving all around town! We passed a bunch of other cars but nobody gave a second look in my direction :)...Then my wife told me she was hungry and that we should go to the Taco Bell drive thru.

I was like, hahah you're kidding right? Nope, she wasn't and told me I'd be fine ordering and getting the food. Well, that was just a bit too much for my first time so we headed to the parking lot and switched seats. We went through without any problems, parked up and ate our food and then headed home!

It was a lot of fun and I look forward to getting out there again. Thanks for reading :D

P.S. Just in case you wanted to know, we ordered a chalupa, a burrito and a steak taco ;)

Sounds like a great start!! Now it's time to go shopping. It is so cool that your wife went with you. My wife is supportive, but she doesn't want to see Lisa or meet her. Did you post pictures?

It has only been a couple of months since I first wne out en femme, but I have been out many times since. The anxiety quickly dissipates and you find yourself loving the fact that you can appear as what you really desire- a woman. The first time that a man holds the door for you, or says sweetly, "can I help you, Ma'am," it really penetrates to your core.

My advice is to get out again and realize that you have less to fear than you think and much more to gain.

Glad you had fun Jessica, and since your wife knew, who cares what other people think. Plus in the company of another woman, people will tend to sort of fill in the blanks and assume you are 2 women.

Just another illustration of our theme here, "Baby steps, just baby steps."

Actually as my sisters have eluded to , it does get "easier" each new time, but "the rush" seems to never go away!!! I would suggest your next outting be an afternoon movie matinee, during a weekday, while school is still in! It usually isn't crowded, if you SO goes with you you don't really have to interact with anyone, and in the darkened theater you can practice your 'feminine moves." Crossing and uncrossing your legs, sitting properly and you get entertainment as well. Walking to and from the car gives you additional practice not only in walking, but getting in and out of a car like a lady!

Have fun, and since the Prez just signed the new "hate Crimes"law that protects us! Well its a step!

Just go for it

Don't worry at all about swapping seats.

You did great on your 1st time out that wasn't an event, better than I did. =D>

even in the dark, even in your car, that first venture out is truly scary even with someone.

good job.
How you KNOW you can do it, its all easier from this point.

Great story :) (And hello from a fellow Chicagoan!)

I've only been outside the house in public dressed once - and it was for Halloween, so I don't think it really "counts", but I did have the exact same RUSH! It felt great! Wife and I were living in Seattle at the time and went to a big shin-dig down on the water, we parked a few blocks away and walked - it was soooo cool to hear MY heels clicking away under me!

I love your blog... the Be-All sounds pretty cool. My CD'ing is on a kind of hiatus now (wife issues, long story) but I really hope to do something like that in the future. From your photos it looks like you're probably around my age (I'm 32) so it's nice to know that there might be some other folks around that might be close to my wife and I...
