I wanted something unique and came up with jade, my wife's favorite gemstone. I thought at one time there was a Jade who posted on CDDF. I thought of the alternate spelling of Jayde but I didn't like it that well - reminded me too much of a name a hippie chick from the 60s would use.
I identify with the 50s and early 60s more than the mid/late 60s, so I thought of adding a middle name of Deanna (after the star trek next gen character), but wasn't quite pleased with the way it sounded.
I eventually thought of the middle name Ann, then combined the names into one and changed the spelling to a way I thought was more pleasing.
In addition, it makes a good name for communication with my wife when we are shopping with other people close by. We can refer to "my cousin Jadeanne". I don't go outside dressed en femme.

My Name
My SO and I sat down at the net and found a site that matches names to personality. However it also gave the origin of the names. So my lovely SO found two names she thought suit me, one was Faith and the other Hayley. We tried Faith Hayley but it didn't quite roll of the tongue but when reversed my SO was very pleased and so she named me Hayley Faith. Simple really but I like it.

Hayley, where was this web page. I am always interested in what names mean and all. My name was very easy as I was getting mail addressed to it already (all junk mail). Still I figured what the heck it's easy to say to I just add the i to my real name and got the femine form of it.

Now here again I am on the other end of this subject. I do not have a fem name. Mostly because I do not feel I need one as I will never try to "pass" as female. While I am more in touch with my female side of my mind the most men I do not want to pass I would rather just have people accept a guy in a skirt. The name I use online is a Scotish mens name. I do Ren Faires as a Scot. Now I am not knocking anyone if it works for you who am I to judge.

Rikki is the feminized form of my male nickname. The spelling is a nod to Vikki Carr, who is one of my favorite singers and a terrific lady.
It's worked out well. My wife (and some other people that I know) can get a bit tongue-tied, so if the wrong people hear me called Rikki they don't freak out, they just assume someone is calling me Ricky.

Obviously, my own "CJ" are just initials; they stand for "Christina Joseph." Some call me CJ, some Christina, and others just Chris. It's all good. Joseph is one of my middle names; Christina, on the other hand, is a name that I can remember always associating exclusively with women. I don't actually personally know any Christinas, though. I think I like it because it reflects (as does "Joseph") my very early Catholic background, growing up in a French society.
