Eight hours of shopping

So my wife is out of town, and I am getting some much needed girl time in. One day down and three to go.
I drove into our closest town for shopping, 35 miles away.
I made all the rounds. Went into three shoe stores.and bought on new pair of casual, no heel, comfy shoes, close towed, gotta keep the tootsies warm. The store had a pair of knee high boots, that looked pretty nice, the girl running the store said she had a eye on something similar- we are both waiting for them to go on sale. I also went to Goodwill and bought a red long sleeve blouse, a white skirt, and a pair of black panty hose. Then finally got my real bargain, a pink pencil skirt $1.97@Sears. It's a little small but the material is real stretchy.
Also went to three grocery stores.

Tomorrows adventure, maybe, will be to go to a movie, with the new pink skirt. We'll have a high of only 42 degrees. So indoor activities are a must. I don't have a good winter jacket yet, and really don't want to buy one for the few cold days we have here in NC. I'll try sweater and hoodie for now.
All in all, it was a fairly good day.

WOW!

Good for you, Hanna, that is just awesome. A whole day of femme time out shopping, great finds and some good deals! What better way to spend the day?

Great deal on the skirt! ..OO.. Now that is definitely a steal, LOL!

Sounds like your next outing will be just as much fun!

Great story Hanna! Nothing like finding a bargain is there.

I went shopping today as Alison in covert mode, Jeans and a light jumper top with bright blue women's sneakers with hot pink accents. As I'm 6'4 I need to dress conservatively. I found a couple real bargains for the upcoming summer at a teen chain store including a long light skirt with a split at the knee. After picking up some $5 tops I headed to the counter to be served by a very young girl. Fortunately she was very nice and wasn't too chatty. As comfortable as I am shopping in girl mode, it's talking to sales people that are 1/3 my age that I find a little unnerving.

Does anyone else feel the same?

I agree completely, Alison. I'm very comfortable with older sales ladies and they seem to be more comfortable and understanding than the "Kids". I can't say I've ever had a really bad experience with the younger ones but I have had a couple of snide remarks. Mostly, I think they haven't had the experience of dealing with us and are wary or baffled by something new to them.

Thanks Robbie,

I think it's a combination of things, as we get older the shop assistants seem to resemble school age kids (and indeed some would be). like you I haven't had any issues, perhaps my size helps deter them from being cheeky.

The other way of looking at it is, I'm experiencing an uncomfortable part of a woman's life, that being feeling intimidated buying clothes for my body shape.
