Lunch time!

Post by Davita »

I feel like it had been forever since I last met my old office mates while fem. Time before was just bad timing and I had to meet up drab. So this time I managed to be in shades of pink and reds with a tee in cream. After two failed attempts in wedge selection, I wound up in my pink trimmed tennies.

As people came in to the restaurant, we exchanged hugs; we all waited for our table. It was a catch up day for everyone. Some had taken buyouts and chased down new work. Another had retired earlier and was never going to work again so she was just enjoying life like I am. Some gave the awful stories of what was going on in the office; the Doge cr**p and how everything got messed up and is totally dysfunctional. Personnel records have been goofed up, no one responds to any questions about it or any other admin issues and the problems just continue to mount.

On the brighter side, we talked family and what everyone was doing that wasn't work related. People got to ask questions for their home projects and got to talk about what they are doing to their homes. My contribution was my landscaping projects.

As the day ended for some, everyone got their departing hugs. My gosh one of our office mates is such a big guy. I felt like I was a little kid when we hugged. Good thing he's a gentle hugger. The last four of us walked out together and wound up talking about our cars. Three of us got new cars within the past year or so. It took us another 15 to 20 minutes just to get out of the parking lot.

Nothing like a comfy outfit, good friends and a great time to make up for the long time waiting for yesterday to happen. These gatherings are good for one's well being. Sometimes they get to be an education for newbies to them as well. No one preps them for coming across this girl.
